RCMP ERT surrounds Hudson Road home up on Promontory Saturday
CHILLIWACK — The RCMP Emergency Response Team investigated a home in the 46800 block of Hudson Road in Promontory Saturday morning, as police reportedly broke down a door at the home in search of an unidentified suspect.
According to multiple reports on social media from Promontory-area residents, RCMP personnel and affiliated K9 units surrounded a home on Hudson Road. The K9 units were said to be in a nearby ravine.
According to the RCMP website, members of the RCMP Emergency Response Team use tactics, specialized weapons and equipment to resolve high-risk situations. The dynamic nature of these incidents requires an integrated response, including resolving armed and barricaded persons incidents and high-risk searches and arrests.
Promontory residents reported hearing what sounded like explosions coming from the home, and advised there was a distinct smell of gas in the air as well.
