LANGLEY — Some residents may have had to get ready in the dark after a large power outage in Langley this morning (April 6).

BC Hydro says power had cut out to the area from 203rd Street to 207th, near the Langley Centre, just after 8 a.m. – affecting 1,421 customers.

Residents nearby reported hearing a “crazy, loud noise” near 207th Street and the Fraser Highway, and that a transformer may have blown in the area.

The cause has since been reported to be equipment failure.
