Police arrest one of Canada’s most wanted murder suspects in Surrey
SURREY — The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) has recently arrested a suspect who was wanted nationwide in connection with a killing in Manitoba.
On March 26, Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) officers were conducting proactive patrols in Surrey when they spotted a man wanted in connection with a homicide in Winnipeg.
Chad Dandan, who was ranked seventh on Canada’s most wanted list on the BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Program, was among three suspects for the kidnapping and murder of 22-year-old Zeyad Vifan Shammo in September 2024.
“The suspect took deliberate steps to avoid being recognized, but our officers’ training and vigilance led to his arrest,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, CFSEU-BC Media Relations Officer. “This is a strong example of the work our members do every day to enhance public safety.”
