Man shot and killed at homeless encampment in Abbotsford, B.C.

ABBOTSFORD — Police in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley are investigating after a fatal shooting at a homeless encampment.

Abbotsford police say the shooting happened Monday night at the Whatcom Road Park and Ride, which authorities say is the location of a large encampment.

Arriving officers found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries, and he later died in hospital.

Homicide investigators have taken over the case, and police say the shooting is believed to be targeted, although the full circumstances are not clear yet.

They say no arrests have been made.
