Man attempting to drive into Chilliwack pedestrians arrested
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP are recommending charges against a man after a series of incidents along Luckakuck Way last week that prompted multiple calls to police.
Mounties were called after reports that a man was attempting to hit pedestrians. Police say the suspect then stopped, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby store, where he tried to pick fights with several people.
The man then fled on foot but was located and arrested a short distance away by the officers. Mounties say the suspect is well known to police.
RCMP say breath samples taken after the arrest showed alcohol levels more than twice the legal limit.
