Two young individuals rescued after getting stuck at Mission waterfall made right decision to call 9-1-1

MISSION – Personnel with Mission Search and Rescue say two young individuals who got stuck on a rocky ledge at Cascade Falls this past Sunday made the right decision by calling 9-1-1.

The search and rescue group says its members were deployed after getting a call that two young people somehow became stuck on a rocky ledge at Cascade Falls, located northeast of Mission, without a safe path to exit.

Mission SAR says it was quickly deployed to make use of the dwindling daylight on Sunday and decide which point of access would be both safe and effective. A volunteer member was able to access the subjects to treat for hypothermia while the team set up and deployed a high-angle rope rescue.

Mission SAR says the two individuals were secured and brought to a safe location before being escorted back to their family.
