Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Maple Ridge: RCMP

MAPLE RIDGE – Mounties in Maple Ridge have confirmed that a male pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on River Road Friday afternoon.

According to a brief statement from the Ridge Meadows RCMP detachment, police were called to the 22300 block of River Road Friday at approximately 2 p.m.

Officers attended and confirmed that a male pedestrian was struck by a train in this area. The male was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency services.

Ridge Meadows RCMP says it is working with CPKC Police Service on this investigation.

Police say no further information will be released at this time.
