VICTORIA — Police in Surrey, B.C., say they are investigating what they believe to be an extortion-related incident after shots were fired at a residence in that community.

A statement from Surrey Police Service says officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a residence in the 8600 block Galway Crescent at about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday.

It says that police found the occupied residence damaged, but nobody was injured during the incident, which happened in Surrey’s Bear Creek neighbourhood.

The statement says that the investigation is in its early stages, adding that officers may return to the neighbourhood to search for physical and digital evidence.
