Statistics Canada now hiring for about 32,000 census jobs, with enumerator jobs paying over $25/hr.
CHILLIWACK — Statistics Canada says it is hiring for approximately 32,000 positions across Canada ahead of this spring’s 2026 census, including enumerator jobs that pay over $25/hour.
In a statement released Monday, StatsCan says census workers will play an essential role as they collect high-quality demographic, social and economic data to help provide an accurate statistical portrait of the country. The data that enumerators receive from constituents will equip decision makers with information about child care and education services, health care, public transportation, housing, community planning, and a wide range of programs that support Canadians.
The next census will be conducted in May 2026. A variety of supervisory and non-supervisory opportunities are available between March 2026 and July 2026, depending on the position and location.
