Mounties thankful as ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ events raise thousands in cash, nearly a ton of food

UPPER FRASER VALLEY — Mounties with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment are expressing thanks to the communities it serves for rallying around their “Stuff the Cruiser” events to help those in need this Christmas holiday season.

Police say Stuff the Cruiser events in Hope, Agassiz and Boston Bar generated nearly $8,000 in cash donations and just under 1,900 pounds of donated food.

“Thank you Hope, Agassiz, and Boston Bar! Your incredible generosity during our Stuff the Cruiser events truly reflects the heart of our communities,” the UFVRD said.

Here are the tallies so far from the three communities:

• Hope: $4,584.50 in cash and 1,189 lbs. of food
• Agassiz: $1,000 in cash and 500 lbs. of food
• Boston Bar: $2,300 in cash and 204 lbs. of food

“A huge thank you to our local businesses; your support makes these events possible. We are grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to helping those in need,” the UFVRD said. “We’re not done yet – the Emergency Services Food Drive will continue in Chilliwack for the next two Saturdays leading up to Christmas!”
