Fraser Health unable to keep Mission Hospital’s ER fully open, but expands urgent care access in Mission

MISSION — While it can’t seem to keep the emergency room at Mission Memorial Hospital fully functional due to six closures this year thus far, Fraser Health is expanding some degree of healthcare access in Mission.

The health authority announced Monday (Nov. 24) that it has expanded hours at the Mission Urgent and Primary Centre, located at 32555 London Avenue, unit 304.

Urgent care hours are now available from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, including stat holidays.

Fraser Health Mission reminds residents that urgent cares are most ideal for health concerns that need attention within 12 to 24 hours and are not emergency matters. Residents are asked to call 604-814-5648 before they go.

Mission residents can also access health advice from home between10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily through Fraser Health’s Virtual Care. It’s available by calling 1-800-314-0999, or through web chat at fraserhealth.ca/VirtualCare.
