Industry experts sign MOU to support irrigation infrastructure safety in B.C.

VANCOUVER — BC 1 Call is looking to boost industry collaboration to support worker and public safety through a new memorandum of understanding with an Abbotsford-based irrigation advocacy group.

Through the MOU, the Irrigation Industry Association of British Columbia will be working with the B.C.-wide nonprofit to strengthen industry awareness, promote responsible excavation, and encourage informed planning before digging. 

“Every excavation project, regardless of size, carries the responsibility to protect the critical infrastructure beneath our feet,” said Donna Grant, President of BC 1 Call. 

“By working together, we can help ensure irrigation professionals have the knowledge, resources, and support they need to excavate safely, protect underground infrastructure, and safeguard the communities they serve.”
