CP NewsAlert: Teresa Wat quits B.C. Conservatives over ‘distasteful’ Findlay remarks
Teresa Wat has quit the B.C. Conservatives and will sit as an Independent, saying she can no longer serve under leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay.
Wat says Findlay failed to apologize over “serious and unfounded accusations” Findlay reportedly made about her that questioned her allegiance to Canada and were distasteful and hurtful.
Here is the text of Wat’s statement Wednesday morning:
“I’ve made the decision today that I can no longer serve as a member of the BC Conservative Caucus under the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay and I will sit as an Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly.
