Residents invited to 4th annual Welcome Day in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — A local nonprofit is looking to help newcomers feel more at home in the city of over 150,000 people.

This September, Archway Community Services is partnering with the City of Abbotsford to host its fourth annual Welcome Day celebration.

“Welcome Day is an opportunity for individuals to get together and strengthen community connections,” said Abhinoor Sidhu, event organizer. “By connecting with one another, we can ensure members of our community feel valued and supported. It’s a chance to celebrate our community and build new friendships.”

The free event kicks off with a service fair where attendees can connect with local groups and programs, followed by the Welcome Day Ceremony, featuring a panel discussion that includes Mayor Ross Siemens, Abbotsford School District Superintendent Dr. Nathan Ngieng, and AbbyPD Chief Constable Colin Watson.
