Hope-area residents invited to set up BC Services Card for emergency preparedness
HOPE — Provincial staff will be on hand in Yale and Hope to help residents in the area, as well as co-located First Nation communities, get ready for emergencies.
The Fraser Valley Regional District says staff will be on hand today (Aug. 16) to help folks set up a BC Services Card app on their phone so they can pre-register for an Emergency Support Services profile when needed.
Evacuees needing independent supports are required to complete this step.
“Setting up the app now lets you pre-register your Emergency Support Services (ESS) profile before you need it,” said the FVRD. “That means faster identity checks, fewer delays if you have to evacuate and direct e-transfers for emergency funds like food and lodging.”
