Update: Power restored to thousands of customers in Abbotsford

UPDATE, 10:10 A.M. WEDNESDAY: Power has been restored to over 2,500 customers in Abbotsford who lost power earlier today.

ABBOTSFORD – BC Hydro crews are on scene early Wednesday morning after thousands of customers in Abbotsford lost power.

BC Hydro says 2,558 customers saw their electricity go out at 4:42 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 5) due to a downed tree across hydro wires.

The affected area of Abbotsford is north of Marshall Road, east of Babich Street and west of Cedar Avenue in what is generally considered central Abbotsford.

The upside is that BC Hydro crews are currently on scene. Hydro’s website was last updated at 7:03 a.m.

As of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, there is currently no expected time when power might be restored.
