Abbotsford PD appeals to public for tips, info on 53-year-old Abbotsford man charged with sexual assault

ABBOTSFORD – The Abbotsford PD is appealing to the public for any information in connection with a 53-year-old Abbotsford man who has been formally charged with two counts of sexual assault and a single charge of administering a stupefying substance.

According to a statement from AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, patrol officers launched an investigation in January 2026 about a sexual assault reported to have occurred in December 2025 involving a female victim. Due to the nature of the suspected crimes, the AbbyPD Sex Crimes Unit took conduct of the investigation.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit assumed conduct of a second sexual assault investigation involving a different female victim. The suspect in this investigation is believed to be the same male identified in the December 2025 report.

On May 12, 53-year-old Angelo Roefaro of Abbotsford was formally charged with two counts of sexual assault, as well as assault, administering a stupefying substance, and theft under $5,000 in relation to these two incidents.
