CHILLIWACK — Classic cars and motorcycles will come together next month as the Fraser Valley Classic Car Show returns to Chilliwack. The annual event is scheduled for June 7 at the University of the Fraser Valley Chilliwack campus parking lot near Caen Avenue and Calais Crescent.

The show is a fundraiser for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation and its support of the Chilliwack General Hospital. It’s hosted each year by the Fraser Valley British Motor Club. Last year’s event raised $18,550 for the hospital. And since 2022, the car show has generated nearly $50,000 for local health care initiatives.

This year’s show expects to feature classic British, American and import vehicles, modified cars and vintage motorcycles. A Young Enthusiast class also allows participants under 19 to enter vehicles of any vintage.

Participants in the show are encouraged to preregister their vehicles online. However vehicle registration is available from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the morning of the show. Organizers said the event is open to vehicles built before 2002, except in the Young Enthusiast category.

The public can wander through the classic cars and motorcycles at 10 a.m. when the grounds open. Admission is free although donations are encouraged. Lots six and seven will offer free parking to the public.

“The Fraser Valley Classic Car Show is important because it supports local health care, celebrates our shared love of classic cars, and brings the community together,” said Susan Antak, President of the  Fraser Valley British Motor Club. “Visitors and exhibitors chat with car owners, swap stories and vote for their favourite vehicle. The show brings together car lovers, families, and community supporters for a great cause.”

The club also plans to raffle off a restored 2004 Saab 9-3 Aero convertible at the event. Ticket sales close at 2 p.m. June 7, with the draw scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the event.
