Smoke was seen emanating from the area while firefighters worked to get a handle on the brush fire.

At one point, fire crews requested additional manpower.

An RCMP member attended the scene. It’s not clear if any ambulances were dispatched.

Fire crews continue to battle the small brush fire as of noon Saturday.

In other fire activity this morning, Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department crews are responding midday to some type of smoke or possible fire behind On the Way Store on Chilliwack Lake Road.
