CHILLIWACK – The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation says the dedicated volunteers behind the Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary found a unique and heartfelt way to celebrate their 115th anniversary.

The Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary celebrated 115 years of service by donating $115,000 to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation.

A celebration to mark the magnanimous deed was held last Friday, May 1 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

The foundation says the generous donation will fund an echocardiography machine at Chilliwack General Hospital.

To date, Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary volunteers have raised over 7 million dollars for CGH over the past 115 years.

“Please join us in congratulating this incredible and dedicated group of volunteers!” the foundation said.

Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary members raise awareness of local health issues, visit the ill in hospital, and raise funds for new equipment, according to its website. Over the years, the Auxiliary has purchased everything from toothbrushes to CT scanners, X-ray machines, and mammogram machines.
