GoFundMe launched for youth victim of weekend assault in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK – A GoFundMe has been launched for the victim of a weekend assault on Wells Road in Chilliwack who suffered life-threatening injuries and is said to be in critical condition.
According to the text of the online financial appeal, Danna Stickley has organized a GoFundMe for her friend’s son, who was the victim of a violent incident and is currently in hospital on life support. The GoFundMe from Danna Stickley states the young man remains in critical condition.
Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police were notified at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday morning about two separate assaults that occurred within a short period of time and in close proximity to one another. The first assault occurred in the 45000 block of Wells Road west of Vedder Road. One adult male victim was located and treated for non‑life‑threatening injuries. The second assault occurred shortly afterward in the same area of Wells Road. A youth victim was transported to hospital with life‑threatening injuries.
“As you can imagine, this has turned their world upside down,” Stickley wrote in her GoFundMe. “His family has not left the hospital and is unable to work as they stay with him through this incredibly difficult time. Along with the emotional toll, the financial strain is quickly growing—expenses for travel, meals, accommodations, and lost income are adding up. We are asking for any support you can give to help ease this burden so they can focus on what truly matters: being there for her him. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this heartbreaking time.”
