Young Mission man faces ‘numerous’ charges after running from police while strapped with bladed weapons: RCMP
MISSION — A 19-year-old is now facing a number of charges after a chaotic incident with police last week, according to Mission RCMP’s latest Community Connection.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on April 16, police received a report that the suspect had threatened to shoot a 22-year-old with a pellet gun, and found him walking on 7th Avenue near Strachan Street.
He then took off running as soon as officers caught up.
“Fortunately, one of the Crime Reduction Unit members who first pulled up is also a very fit officer, and was able to catch up to the 19-year-old in short order,” said Mission RCMP. “He pulled the suspect to the ground mid-stride, and another officer attended to help take him into custody.”
