Impaired N driver nearly sideswipes AbbyPD car while travelling on Highway 1

ABBOTSFORD — A novice driver has been removed from local roads after nearly hitting a police car in Abbotsford last night (Apr. 16).

AbbyPD patrol officers were travelling eastbound on Highway 1 when they noticed an SUV weaving between lanes before leaving at Clearbook Road and continuing north. Police then followed to keep a close eye on the vehicle.

“At one point, the fully marked police vehicle was driving alongside the SUV, operated by a 25 year old Class 7 N driver—clearly unfazed by the presence of a police car,” said AbbyPD. “Suddenly, and without warning, the driver swerved directly into the officers’ lane, narrowly missing side swiping a police vehicle.”
