36-year-old woman arrested for alleged involvement in theft of Chilliwack truck

ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford say a 36-year-old woman who is known to police was arrested for her alleged involvement in the theft of a pickup truck stolen earlier in the day from Chilliwack.

According to a statement from AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, police in Abbotsford received a call from a member of the public just after noon Saturday in regards to a truck they believe had been stolen from Chilliwack. The caller told police they recognized the vehicle after seeing a post about it on social media.

Abbotsford PD officers responded swiftly and with help from the caller themselves, located the stolen truck while it was being driven in West Abbotsford.

Officers followed the vehicle discreetly with support from the Air 1 police helicopter. Officers waited until it was safe to take enforcement action. Once the truck came to a stop and parked, officers moved in and arrested the driver without incident.
