Calgary Flames sign defenceman Abram Wiebe to two-year contract

CALGARY — The Calgary Flames have signed defenceman Abram Wiebe to a two-year contact with an average annual value of US$950,000, the NHL club announced Friday.

Wiebe, from Mission, B.C., had five goals and 24 assists in 40 games with the University of North Dakota in the 2025-26 NCAA season.

He also played four games with the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the 2026 Spengler Cup.

Wiebe spent four seasons with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs, earning the league’s top defenceman award in 2022-23, before joining North Dakota.
