Langley sports bar shuts doors after more than a decade in service

LANGLEY — A local pub and restaurant has now closed its doors to service, not long after it switched to new management.

Oak & Thorne, which was located in the Walnut Grove neighbourhood in the Township of Langley, announced that it has permanently closed on Tuesday, March 31.

“To everyone who’s walked through our doors over the years—thank you,” said the restaurant. “For the nights, the energy, the memories. It’s been an honour serving this community.”

On January 2 this year, Oak & Thorne shared in a social media post that it was under new management with Surrey-based RDM Hospitality.

The restaurant has since called on patrons to direct their support to The Henry in Cloverdale, Surrey, which is also owned by RDM Hospitality.

The Joseph Richard Group (JRG) first opened the sports bar in 2015, but had to sell all its restaurants in 2024 after struggling to keep up with the post-pandemic hospitality industry.

Another one of those restaurants was Townhall Chilliwack, located at 6640 Vedder Road in Sardis, which also announced its abrupt closure in late November 2025.
