ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police are praising the efforts of a local resident who tipped off police to a suspicious vehicle Tuesday morning.

The resident of the 2600 block of Countess Street in Abbotsford spotted the vehicle and made the call. AbbyPD patrol officers identified the care and began to monitor it.

After a night of what police allege was criminal activity, the driver pulled into a drive-thru lineup to grab a coffee at 7 a.m. along South Fraser Way. Police boxed in his vehicle and made the arrest.

The driver, a 28-year-old man well known to police, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. The car had been stolen from Chilliwack.
