Hope Fire Department supports Chawathil First Nation Fire Department

HOPE — After 35 years of service to the Hope Fire Department, a fire rescue vehicle is being turned over the Chawathil First Nation Fire Department.

The keys to the vehicle were passed Monday during a colourful ceremony in front of the Chawathil Fire Hall.

District of Hope Mayor Victor Smith, Retired Fire Chief Tom DeSorcy and Fire Chief Thomas Cameron were joined by other community leaders for the event.

In a social media post, the District of Hope says the ceremony symbolized trust, partnership, and the shared commitment to serving our communities.
