More than 50 drivers were ticketed during a distracted-driving enforcement blitz in Mission. The operation was part of distracted driving month in B.C.

Mission RCMP  teamed up with Canadian Pacific Kansas City police, RoadSafetyBC and volunteers from the Mission Crime Prevention Office to operate the blitz.

Officers were set up near the London Avenue overpass and stopped motorists who were spotted using their phones during the three-hour operation.

The fine for using a phone while driving is $368 and carries four demerit points.
