RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit called to Bridal Falls

BRIDAL FALLS — Workers excavating a former gas station in Bridal Falls made a potentially explosive discovery last week.

According to RCMP, the worker found a few dozen items that appeared to be explosives.

The lower mainland based RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit was called to deal with the situation. According to a news release from Agassiz RCMP, members of the disposal unit safely destroyed approximately 50 items.

Police believe the items were old construction detonator caps.

There were no reports of injuries.
