39-year-old Mission man arrested, drugs and weapons seized in search warrant: RCMP
MISSION — Mounties in Mission say a 39-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody for possession of firearms, multiple IDs in other people’s names and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
According to a statement from Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr, officers pulled over a vehicle the 39-year-old man was travelling in on Tuesday, February 24 and arrested him without incident.
Corporal Mohr says a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act was executed that same day at the man’s home in Mission. Police located multiple items believed to be consistent with drug trafficking, including various imitation firearms, and multiple pieces of identification in other people’s names.
Cpl. Mohr says the Mission RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit proactively commenced the investigation to determine whether the man was complying with release conditions related to other charges. During the course of that investigation, officers obtained and secured evidence which convinced them the unnamed man was actively involved in drug trafficking.
