Wholesale warehouse store marks successful grand opening in Chilliwack Saturday

CHILLIWACK — Stock flew off the shelves while lines ran circles at the counters as a new wholesale warehouse business celebrated its grand opening in Chilliwack this weekend.

Uncle Wiener’s opened at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 7, with incentives such as door-crasher sales, free concessions and a kids’ bouncy castle.

“Grab your free hotdog, grab your drink, grab a pop. Just enjoy,” said the store representative on a social media stream. “You don’t have to buy anything. We just want to get to know you.”

The business reported that its stock of Amazon mystery boxes was running low within an hour of opening, and Fraser Valley Today on-site reporter Mike Vanden Bosch noted that the check-out line had at least 50 customers as of 11 a.m.

“The line eventually dwindled, [but] within the first couple hours, the warehouse was packed with shoppers,” Mike added. “The Weiner Binz discount area was packed.”

The approximately 39,000-square-foot store is located at 110-7955 Evans Road, near the Evans roundabout.

Chilliwack marks the store’s 21st branch since Uncle Wiener’s founding in Alberta in 2017.
