UPDATE: 68-year-old woman’s body recovered Saturday, no foul play currently suspected: RCMP
UPDATE: Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says the body of a 68-year-old woman was recovered over the weekend, and no foul play is currently suspected in her death.
Corporal Kiener released the following statement: “On February 28, 2026, at approximately 4:17 p.m., Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of possible human remains located along Pale Creek Forest Service Road in the Chilliwack River Valley. Due to the remote location, RCMP Air Services assisted officers in accessing the area. With their support, police located the remains of a 68‑year‑old woman. A vehicle found nearby was determined to be associated to the deceased. Chilliwack Search and Rescue attended to assist with safely recovering the remains. The investigation is ongoing in partnership with the BC Coroners Service to determine what occurred. Currently, foul play is not suspected. No further information, including the identity of the deceased, will be released at this time.”
