Chilliwack RCMP conduct bike patrols to support crime reduction efforts, arrest 1 of Chilliwack’s most wanted
CHILLIWACK – Mounties in Chilliwack say recent bike patrols conducted by a special task force have resulted in several arrests, including a suspect wanted in an assault and theft, a separate arrest of one of Chilliwack’s most wanted, and the launch of two narcotics investigations.
According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, several bike patrol officers canvassed the community as part of Project S.A.F.E. (Strategic Action for Focused Engagement) last Friday, February 20.
Cpl. Kiener says this initiative works to strengthen public safety by focusing on high‑crime areas, increasing police visibility, and disrupting the activities of repeat and priority offenders. Despite cold temperatures dropping to a balmy -5 Celsius that day, bike officers actively patrolled business fronts, trails, and areas with higher reported crime rates to support safety and well‑being across Chilliwack, Cpl. Kiener said.
