B.C. man facing multiple charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, for alleged role in multiple incidents
MAPLE RIDGE – Mounties in Maple Ridge say a 28-year-old man is facing charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, uttering threats and a host of other crimes for his alleged role in three incidents spanning multiple jurisdictions in B.C.
According to a statement from police, Ridge Meadows RCMP members received a report on January 18, 2026, at 12:40 a.m., that a woman was allegedly being held against her will in a car. The alleged suspect had been reportedly armed and was exhibiting threatening behaviour.
Police say they immediately pursued various investigational avenues and subsequently located the woman and male suspect in north Pitt Meadows. When officers arrived, the suspect was safely taken into custody.
Through collaborative means with policing partners across the Lower Mainland, investigators identified two similar incidents that allegedly occurred in Surrey and West Vancouver on January 15 and January 16, 2026.
