Transit Police investigating over 35 incidents of vandalism to bus shelters, likely from projectile
LOWER MAINLAND – Transit Police in Metro Vancouver say they’re investigating a rash of vandalism to bus shelters in several cities like Surrey, Burnaby and New Westminster.
In a statement, Metro Vancouver Transit Police say they were notified on Monday, February 2, by Coast Mountain that multiple bus shelters had been damaged along 152 Street, between 26 Avenue and 86 Avenue, in Surrey. Police say 14 bus shelters were located with their glass shattered by what authorities believe is a small projectile.
Since February 2, Transit Police’s investigative units have located and identified similar vandalism in municipalities throughout Metro Vancouver, resulting in a staggering 36 bus shelters that share similar patterns of vandalism.
