Single-vehicle crash in Chilliwack Wednesday morning may have damaged drainage culvert

CHILLIWACK – First responders were called to Sumas Central Road just east of Lickman Road Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a ditch.

According to scanner traffic, Chilliwack fire crews were paged at about 8:32 a.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle crash.

Scanner traffic indicated a vehicle rolled over.

A firefighter told dispatch that the lone occupant of the vehicle was out of the vehicle. The patient reportedly declined medical treatment at the time.

A firefighter told dispatch that Chilliwack public works crews would need to attend due to a damaged drainage culvert.

RCMP attended the scene since a tow was required. Telus was asked to attend as well since it appears a communication box may have been struck.

Chilliwack fire crews cleared from the scene just before 9 a.m. The scene was left in care of RCMP.
