COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY – The provincial contractor responsible for maintaining the Coquihalla Highway says notable accumulations of snow are expected late Sunday night and into Monday morning.

According to a statement issued Sunday evening, YRB Nicola Ltd. says service-area wide snow is expected to begin again tonight. Notable accumulations are anticipated for all routes, the most being 10-15cm for the Coquihalla Summit on Hwy. 5 and Botanie Rd in Lytton. The Fraser Canyon and Highway 8 Spences Bridge could see snow as well.

“We expect snow to continue through tomorrow morning, transitioning from squalls to showers by mid day, and finally tapering off in the afternoon. In saying that, looks like we are in for snowy weather throughout the coming week,” YRB Nicola Ltd. said.

The company says motorists who are travelling the Coquihalla Highway should expect winter driving conditions and plan their drive accordingly.
