CHILLIWACK — Locals in the Fraser Valley are looking to support their displaced neighbours from Ukraine with a public gathering this weekend.

“Hear the Voice of Ukraine” will be coming to Chilliwack on Saturday, February 21, to mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Four years into the full-scale invasion, this war is not history — it is lived reality,” said Iryna Kobets, one of the organizers. “This event creates space for truth, remembrance, and solidarity, and for Canadians to hear directly from those affected.”

Community members, faith leaders and members of the Ukrainian diaspora are among the guests invited to the event, with messages from municipal representatives, including Councillor Bud Mercer and Abbotsford-South Langley MP Sukhman Gill.
