Update: Power restored after 1,700+ lose electricity in Chilliwack Thursday morning

UPDATE: Power has been restored to customers in Promontory.

CHILLIWACK — Over 1,700 residential customers in Promontory have lost power Thursday morning, and the reason isn’t immediately clear.

According to its online dashboard, BC Hydro says 1,704 customers lost power at 10:23 a.m. Thursday morning.

The impacted areas include south of Uplands Drive, east of Morton Road, west of Sylvan Drive, and north of Chilliwack Lake

Crews are expected to arrive by 11:30 a.m. As of 12:21 p.m., they are now on site.

Its website was last updated at 12:02 p.m.

The cause is under investigation.

There are multiple other outages in the greater Chilliwack area, but those are all planned outages, including one affecting about 140 customers in Agassiz.
