Impairment not suspected in Wednesday night rollover on Chilliwack River Road

UPDATE, 8:35 A.M. THURSDAY: Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police were called to a reported single-vehicle rollover at 8:20 p.m. She says the driver and lone occupant did not suffer any injuries and alcohol was not a factor.

No criminal offence was committed, and the driver was issued a ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act, Cpl. Kiener says.

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack first responders were called to an apparent rollover on Chilliwack River Road Wednesday evening.

According to a witness who observed the crash scene, a vehicle wound up upside down in the 7500 block of Chilliwack River Road.

The road was briefly closed as a result of the accident.

The vehicle involved in the crash was in the process of being towed at approximately 8:55 p.m. Lights from a police car were visible in the background.

The Pulse Point app indicates the motor vehicle accident happened at approximately 8:25 p.m. At one point, two ambulances were on scene. Any and all paramedics were cleared from the scene by 9:10 p.m.

It’s not immediately known whether there were any injuries as a result of the apparent crash.
