City of Chilliwack plans Family Day activities

CHILLIWACK – Though it wasn’t announced on its social media channels, the City of Chilliwack still has Family Day activities planned this weekend at a number of civic facilities across the city.

On its website, the city says there will be complimentary skate admission and free hot chocolate at the Chilliwack Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 15 from 2:30 p.m to 4 p.m., at the secondary rink. Skate rentals are available for $5 (cash only). Residents can take part in a colouring activity and submit their finished artwork to be entered into a draw to win a family skate pass.

Over in Sardis at the Sardis Sports Complex, there is complimentary skate admission and free hot chocolate on Monday, Feb. 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at rinks 1 and 2. Skate rentals are available for $5 (cash or Interac). They’ll hold a colouring contest as well to be entered into a draw to win a family skate pass.

For just $2 per person, there will be toonie swims at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre on Monday, Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and at the Cheam Leisure Centre from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
