Mission Memorial Hospital Emergency Department not available Sunday evening
MISSION — Fraser Health has announced a 15-hour temporary service interruption at the Mission Memorial Hospital on Sunday (Feb. 8). The emergency room will not be available from 5 p.m to 8 a.m. Monday.
It says that physician staffing challenges are behind the situation.
Fraser Health says emergency trained nurses will continue to be working at the hospital and available to support walk-in patients in need of basic care. Patients requiring urgent care will be directed to a neighbouring hospital.
The health authority says it is working closely with B.C. Emergency Health Services to have paramedics take patients that require a high level of care, to an appropriate hospital. Anyone with a life-threatening emergency should call 9-1-1.
