Surrey driver loses Lamborghini for a week after speeding on Delta bridge
SURREY — A Surrey man had to go home without his Lamborghini after being clocked at more than double the speed limit on the Alex Fraser Bridge on Wednesday evening (Feb. 4).
Just after 8 p.m., BC Highway Patrol spotted the luxury SUV driving “much faster” than other northbound traffic over the bridge in Delta when the radar read it going 197 km/h in a 70 zone.
“Some drivers seem to think that bridges are free from speed enforcement. That is a foolish and dangerous assumption. Bridges are no strangers to deadly collisions,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.
“Driving over double the speed limit is extremely dangerous to you, your passengers, and everyone around you.”
