Unique Chilliwack coffee shop opens its doors, looking to brew hope and community

CHILLIWACK – Following months of planning, building and dreaming, a social enterprise coffee shop with an underlying goal of brewing hope, community and opportunity has opened in Chilliwack.

Ruth’s Coffee, a social enterprise of Ruth and Naomi’s Mission in Chilliwack, opened its doors on Tuesday, February 3 inside the Yarrow Alliance Church at 42479 Yarrow Central Road in Yarrow.

“We’re finally open!” the coffee shop wrote on social media. “This space was created with intention, community, and good coffee in mind. We can’t wait to share it with you.”

Ruth’s Coffee opened Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 42479 Yarrow Central Road in Yarrow.

On its website, Ruth’s Coffee says the café offers Ruth and Naomi’s Mission participants the opportunity to get hands-on experience in a supportive environment, empowering them to build confidence, gain practical job skills and engage with the public.

“Every cup served at Ruth’s Coffee represents more than a great brew; it’s a symbol of transformation and opportunity. The café is a space where participants can grow while the community gathers to connect and share,” Ruth’s Coffee said.

The coffee shop is a partnership between the Yarrow Alliance Church and Ruth & Naomi’s Mission.

The hot drinks menu consists of fresh brewed coffee, Americanos, espressos, pour overs, lattes, cappucinos, mochas, and caramel macchiatos. The menu also features iced coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Its food menu features croissants, carrot muffins, chocolate danishes, cookies and banana loafs. It also sells soups and sandwiches, including a grilled cheese sandwich, a ham and Swiss croissant, a breakfast sandwich and seasonal soup.

Their hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
