Chilliwack trail systems reopen after December flooding event
CHILLIWACK — Most trails across Chilliwack are ready for visitors over this sunny weekend as the region continues to recover from last month’s atmospheric river.
All trails, except for the upper portion of the Qoqó:Lem Trail and one trail within the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, are now open to the public.
A “trail closed” sign is posted at both ends of the Tower Trail at the Nature Reserve due to a dangerous tree that still needs an arborist’s attention, possibly followed by repairs to the boardwalk.
“We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and well wishes during this time, and we’re looking forward to returning to some normalcy!” wrote Great Blue Heron in a social media post.
