CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack pet food society is marking its first year of service helping local pet owners in need, and hopes to help even more Chilliwack-area pets in 2026 through a fundraiser this spring.

Zoey’s Pawsome Pets Society, based in Chilliwack and blessed with a dedicated roster of volunteers who supply 500 pets a month with essential supplies, celebrated its one-year anniversary on Thursday, January 15.

From its inception, the group says it’s gotten a ton of support from businesses in Chilliwack and throughout the Lower Mainland, making their mission possible. As volunteer Julie Chadwick tells Fraser Valley Today, even more businesses are stepping forward to support their cause. For example, they’ve received support from Dysktra Kitchen Reface Solutions, Jeff Lindhout at Valley Power Sweep and Emil Anderson Group.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way including amazing businesses, from North Vancouver to Chilliwack, who have stepped up to help make our mission possible,” Chadwick said. “Thank you for believing in what we do! As we move into this next chapter, we are thrilled to announce new partnerships and upcoming events.”

To keep that momentum going this year, they’re planning for their very first Pub Night, “The Lend-A-Paw” annual fundraiser, happening Saturday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Corky’s Pub (3-45844 Yale Road) in Chilliwack. Tickets are just $20.

“A big thank you to those who wish to remain anonymous, as well as Julie Chadwick, Jackie Smith, Sandy H, Jann T, Rebecca M, Tyler Mann, Angela Brandon, Rachel Alexandrea, and Heather Cale for your dedication and support,” the group said. “Our team is looking forward to an exciting 2026, with hopes of obtaining charity status in 2027. Thank you for being part of our journey the best is yet to come!”
