Coquihalla Highway all clear after big multi-vehicle crash late Tuesday night

COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY — DriveBC says the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt has been cleared up after overnight vehicle recovery activities, following a reported multi-rig crash.

Skilled Truckers Canada, a Chilliwack-based Facebook group with over 287,000 followers online, said there was a multi-tractor trailer crash on the Coquihalla (Highway 5) near Coquihalla Lakes Road. Skilled Truckers said there were two units in the ditch and two jacknifed still on the road.

The Pulse Point app indicated there was a traffic incident at 10:47 p.m. near the rest area and Coldwater Road off-ramp.

DriveBC reported overnight that there was a northbound commercial vehicle recovery blocking the right lane between Exit 228, Coquihalla Lakes Road and Exit 231, Mine Creek Road.
