CP NewsAlert: Freeland resigning as Toronto MP on Friday
OTTAWA — Longtime Liberal MP and former cabinet minister Chrystia Freeland will resign as a member of Parliament on Friday.
She posted her plan to resign on social media today.
Earlier this week, Freeland accepted a voluntary role as an economic development adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said Freeland’s upcoming resignation from the House of Commons is “consistent” with her upcoming role.
