Two sentenced for manslaughter in 2023 Maple Ridge homicide
MAPLE RIDGE — Two Maple Ridge residents have now been found guilty of the killing of 55-year-old Surinderjit “Jack” Singh more than two years ago.
At 7:30 a.m. on March 4, 2023, Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of Singh’s dead body found in the 21800 block of 122nd Avenue, at a parking lot near Maple Ridge Secondary.
Singh was not known to police and had no criminal record.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took charge of the investigation, and on May 12, 2023, Kimberley Buitenweg and Joseph McWilliams were both charged with second-degree murder.
